This fails to compile on systems without wchar-Support. Also, you shouldn't rely on the presence of the system-header cwchar. There is a macro to test that. I attached a patch, which makes it at least work on my system. It's Linux/uclibc, where the header cwchar and and the type wchar_t are present, but non of the system functions concerning wchar_t are available.
