I added a comment to the KDE ticket linked above. I have now added a documented way (a property map) to get the underlying edge descriptor from a reverse_graph; see libs/graph/doc/reverse_graph.html in the Boost trunk for information.

I am closing this as invalid since it is primarily an application issue; I am on the CC list for the KDE bug now (and have posted a couple of messages there), so discussion of a fix to Digikam should continue there.
