6593,patch: bjam SHELL builtin: fix for strip-eol and added join-lines,codemonkey@…,Vladimir Prus,"The implementation of the 'strip-eol' option (which I submitted as a patch some time ago) had a flaw (as identified by Marc Dürner on the boost-build mailing list) in which it could strip newlines in the middle of the output, as opposed to only at the end of output, as intended.

This patch fixes that issue and introduces a new option called 'join-lines' which will replace ALL newlines in the output with a space.

Note that I've introduced a pair of functions that are candidates for the string module and which perhaps should be moved there.
