Boost C++ Libraries: Ticket #8869: boost::serialization can't serialize std::shared_ptr (C++11) https://svn.boost.org/trac10/ticket/8869
I prefer to use C++11 and std::shared_ptr, but the serialization library can't use those. Please fix!
en-us Boost C++ Libraries /htdocs/site/boost.png https://svn.boost.org/trac10/ticket/8869 Trac 1.4.3 Robert Ramey Tue, 20 Aug 2013 21:59:48 GMT

I will fix this --- eventually.

It's not a trivial fix. This is because (out of necessity) I broke a rule and coupled serialization of boost::shared_ptr to the archive clesses. I hated to do it but I felt I had to include boost::shared_ptr. Now we have shared_ptr which is also not serializable without extra help. The real solution is to enhance the archive classes to include some more API to handle classes not normally serializable.

Robert Ramey

status changed; resolution set https://svn.boost.org/trac10/ticket/8869#comment:2 https://svn.boost.org/trac10/ticket/8869#comment:2

status new → closed

resolution → fixed

Ticket anonymous Mon, 24 Nov 2014 17:24:25 GMT

Where is this fixed?
