Here is a suggestion, could something like this eventually be included in boost? What modifications should I make (after switching to boost::bind)? The iterated values are evenly spaced from each other and the boundaries.

Example usage:

boost::array<double, 2> start{-4, 3}, end{4, 11};

const size_t samples_per_dim = 2;

for (const auto& i: volume_iterator(start, end, samples_per_dim)) {

}
