Description
The trunk version of serialization doesn't build with mingw-gcc-3.4.5.
It seems here
John provided patch to fix it.
Can it be applied to trunk?

However, I'm a bit confused that trunk isn't the latest development version available...

I thought they had been applied to the trunk.
Hmmmm - I found I have already applied to my version for 1.36. I've been asked not to fold these changes into the trunk until 1.35 comes out.
