error: Empty path passed to 'make-UNIX'

Description
macos 10.5.7 xcode 3.1.4 compiler: gcc 4.0.1 boost: 1.41.0 bjam 3.1.17
- i have installed boost into /usr/local/boost
- compilation succeeded
- bjam was copied to /usr/bin
- but when i try to run bjam in folder on other drive (only Jamroot.jam is in folder, BOOST_ROOT and BOOST_BUILD_PATH variables are set in local environment) to build my project, then i get these errors:
