Description
In various locations for downloading Boost, such as http://sourceforge.net/projects/boost/files/boost/, one sees "Looking for the latest version?" followed by a link to boost-jam-3.1.18-1-macosxx86_64.tgz (82.2 KB).
As any seasoned Boost programmer knows, this is not the file one wants if one is installing Boost for the first time. I have installed hundreds of packages over the years, but this was my first time installing Boost, and sure enough, this instruction wasted ten minutes of my time. The difference between Boost and Boost-jam is arcane knowledge particular to your community, and cannot be deduced from prior experience.
Ten minutes may seem trivial, but if one does this to 1,000 people, that's roughly a week. At least this is spread out over many people; our society takes a rather dim view of tying up the same person for a week!
I fixed this sometime last year. I think there's a duplicate ticket somewhere. It does need to be updated with every release, which is a bit annoying.
