The testing infrastructure need to know the build dir for jam and assumes that we're either on windows or linux, depending on the value of Python's os.name. This fails on AIX and OSF. See messages with "testing problems" subject.

This is way old... And since we are actively running AIX tests, from Sandia and IBM, I assume this is no longer a problem.
