Description
The IOStream library documentation is pretty terribly out of date. According to the docs, it was last updated in February of 2008, and the library has changed quite a lot since then.
It is now misleading to the point of being erroneous.

Those revised dates are misleading since no one ever updates them. They're best removed. If you know of a place where the documentation is misleading, you should file a ticket, preferably with a patch as they library doesn't have a proper maintainer. But I don't think much has changed since 2008, looking through the history it's mostly bug fixes.
